Kosius is a Georgia-based, physician-led virtual medical practice dedicated to delivering high-quality, compassionate clinical care directly to you. We provide expert telehealth consultations for weight management, lifestyle care, and medication refills, allowing Georgia patients to receive dedicated clinical attention from a board-certified physician from home.

Who will I meet with?

You will meet directly with Dr. Shivani Anumolu, DO, a board-certified Internal Medicine physician. Kosius is physician-led, so you receive dedicated medical attention from the same doctor who knows your health history.

Is Kosius a doctor's office?

Kosius is a telehealth medical practice that provides care virtually through secure video visits and patient messaging.

What states do you serve?

Kosius currently serves patients physically located in Georgia.

Do you accept insurance?

No. Kosius currently operates as a self-pay practice and does not bill insurance.

Why is Kosius self-pay?

Operating as a self-pay practice means no waiting weeks for insurance approvals, no hidden copays, and transparent pricing. You can access high-quality care when you need it.

What types of services do you offer?

Kosius provides virtual consultations for weight management, medication refills for current patients, travel health support, lab review, and general medical concerns.

How much do appointments cost?

Can I message my provider?

Yes. Secure messaging is available to current patients through the Practice Better patient portal.

Will Kosius offer Spanish-speaking support?

Yes. Kosius is preparing to welcome a bilingual Spanish-speaking specialist soon to support patients and families who feel most comfortable discussing their health in Spanish. This support is not yet available for booking.

What if I need emergency care?

Kosius does not provide emergency medical services. If you are experiencing an emergency, call 911 or seek immediate medical attention.

Telehealth Visits

How does a telehealth visit work?

Patients schedule online, complete any required intake information, and meet virtually with a provider through a secure platform.

Do I need to download software?

Most visits can be accessed through the patient portal using a computer, tablet, or smartphone.

Can I use my phone?

Yes. A compatible smartphone, tablet, or computer may be used.

How long do appointments take?

We structure appointments to value your time while ensuring high-quality clinical care. Initial weight management consultations typically take 15 minutes, and general medical consultations are scheduled for a dedicated 20 minutes so we can go deeper into your history and concerns.

What happens if we lose our internet connection or have a technical issue during the visit?

Don't worry. Technology glitches happen. If your video cuts out, Dr. Anumolu will call you directly on your phone to complete your consultation, or the Kosius team will help you reschedule at no extra cost.

Is my virtual visit private and secure?

Absolutely. Your privacy is our highest priority. Kosius uses encrypted, HIPAA-compliant telehealth technology to help keep your medical information, video consultations, and personal data confidential and protected.

Can telehealth replace my primary care doctor?

No. Kosius complements existing healthcare relationships and encourages ongoing primary care.

What conditions can be evaluated virtually?

Many non-emergency conditions can be evaluated through telehealth. Some situations may require in-person evaluation.

Can I book same-day appointments?

Not at this time.

Can family members join my visit?

In many situations, yes. Ask your provider if you have questions about another person joining.

Prescriptions

Will I receive a prescription at the end of my visit?

Your health and safety are our top priorities. Prescriptions are never automatically guaranteed, but Dr. Anumolu will issue a prescription whenever it is clinically appropriate. If a medication is not the right fit, she will work with you to find a safe alternative care plan.

Can prescriptions be sent to my local pharmacy?

Yes. When clinically appropriate, prescriptions can be sent to your preferred local pharmacy.

Do you prescribe controlled substances?

No. Kosius does not prescribe controlled substances.

Can I request a medication refill?

Medication refill visits are a benefit for established Kosius patients only. Current Kosius patients may sign in to the patient portal to request refill care when evaluation is required.

What happens if I have no refills remaining?

Current Kosius patients can schedule a refill consultation through the portal so Dr. Anumolu can determine whether a refill is appropriate. Refill visits are not available as public new-patient appointments.

Can I transfer medications from another provider?

A provider can review your current treatment and determine appropriate next steps.

Can prescriptions be transferred to another pharmacy?

Patients should work directly with their pharmacy regarding prescription transfers.

GLP-1 Weight Management

What is a GLP-1 medication?

GLP-1 medications are prescription treatments that may support weight management and blood sugar regulation when clinically appropriate.

What GLP-1 medications might be discussed during my visit?

Depending on your medical history and treatment goals, providers may discuss medications such as semaglutide or tirzepatide when appropriate.

Do you prescribe brand-name GLP-1s like Ozempic, Wegovy, and Zepbound?

Yes. You would need to schedule a General Medical Consultation. Dr. Anumolu will review your health goals, BMI, and medical history. If a GLP-1 medication is clinically appropriate and safe for you, she will write the prescription for the specific brand that best aligns with your needs and send it directly to your pharmacy.

Do I qualify for GLP-1 medication?

Eligibility depends on your medical history, health conditions, and treatment goals.

Is the initial GLP-1 weight loss consultation 100% free?

Yes. We offer a completely free initial virtual consultation specifically for new patients interested in compounded GLP-1 medications, such as compounded semaglutide or tirzepatide. This promotional free visit applies strictly to compounded GLP-1 therapy. If you wish to seek treatment using commercial brand-name medications such as Wegovy or Zepbound, please select our standard General Medical Consultation when booking.

How long does a GLP-1 consultation take?

A GLP-1 consultation typically takes 15 to 30 minutes.

Will I receive a prescription during my first visit?

Treatment decisions are made during the visit based on clinical evaluation. A prescription is not guaranteed.

How much do GLP-1 medications cost?

Medication pricing varies by pharmacy, insurance coverage, manufacturer programs, and medication type.

Does the visit fee include medication?

No. Medication costs are separate.

Can you help with insurance savings cards?

Because Kosius operates on a self-pay model, the cost of medication itself is handled at your pharmacy. Dr. Anumolu is knowledgeable about manufacturer savings cards and can guide you on how to apply them at your pharmacy when available.

Do I need lab work?

Some patients may require lab work before treatment recommendations can be made.

How often are follow-up visits needed?

Follow-up frequency varies based on clinical needs.

What side effects can occur with GLP-1 medications?

Possible side effects may include nausea, vomiting, constipation, diarrhea, stomach discomfort, and other effects discussed during your visit.

How quickly will I lose weight?

Results vary significantly. Kosius does not guarantee weight-loss outcomes.

Do GLP-1 medications replace diet and exercise?

No. GLP-1 medications work best when paired with sustainable lifestyle modifications. Dr. Anumolu takes a holistic approach, helping you combine medication with realistic nutrition and exercise strategies to support long-term success.

Can I transfer my GLP-1 care from another provider?

In many situations, yes. A provider will review your current care and determine appropriate next steps.

Medication Refills

What medications can be considered for refill?

For current Kosius patients, Dr. Anumolu reviews eligible, non-controlled refill requests on a case-by-case basis.

Do you refill controlled substances?

No.

Do I need a visit for a refill?

In many situations, yes. Refill visits are available only to current Kosius patients, who should use the portal to request or schedule refill care.

Can you refill multiple medications?

Yes. Multi-medication refill visits are a current-patient benefit for established Kosius patients.

Can you provide a one-time refill?

When clinically appropriate, one-time refill support may be available to current Kosius patients.

Pricing & Billing

What forms of payment do you accept?

Major credit and debit cards are accepted.

Do you bill insurance?

No. Kosius is a self-pay practice.

Are there membership fees?

No membership is currently required.

What is your cancellation and rescheduling policy if my schedule changes?

We understand that life happens and schedules change. If you need to cancel or reschedule your telehealth visit, please do so through the patient portal at least 24 hours in advance so we can offer that opening to another patient. Late cancellations or missed visits without notice are subject to a fee.

Can I use my HSA or FSA card?

Yes. Because Kosius provides licensed, board-certified medical care, virtual consultation fees are generally eligible expenses for most HSA and FSA plans. You can use your HSA or FSA debit card directly at checkout like a standard credit card.

Are there any hidden fees or costs for follow-up care?

Kosius believes in pricing transparency. Every fee is listed clearly on the Pricing page before you book. The initial GLP-1 consultation applies to compounded GLP-1 therapy only, and subsequent follow-up visits or general consultations are listed at a flat rate that covers your time with Dr. Anumolu and prescription submission when clinically appropriate.

Is medication included in visit pricing?

No. Medication costs are separate.

Why does Kosius work with local pharmacies?

Community pharmacies play an important role in medication adherence, local access, and patient care.

Can my pharmacy refer patients to Kosius?

Do you provide pharmacy referral materials?

Yes. Kosius can provide QR codes, flyers, referral cards, and other patient materials.

Can prescriptions be sent to the referring pharmacy?

When requested by the patient and clinically appropriate, prescriptions may be sent to the patient's preferred pharmacy.

Can pharmacies receive custom referral pages?

Yes. Custom referral pages may be available for pharmacy partners.
